The Meghalaya State Electricity Regulatory Commission (MSERC) on August 10, 2026, issued the Meghalaya State Electricity Regulatory Commission (State Grid Code) (6 of 2026) Regulations, 2026.
The following has been stated: -
•Applies to the State Transmission Utility (STU), State Load Despatch Centre (SLDC), and all intra-state grid users across Meghalaya.
•Aligns Meghalaya’s state grid operations with the updated Indian Electricity Grid Code (IEGC) 2023 regulations specified by CERC.
•Covers resource planning, connection requirements, commissioning procedures, system security, and frequency/voltage control.
•Establishes comprehensive standards for scheduling, dispatch, protection coordination, outage planning, and metering across the state network.
These regulations shall come into force from August 10, 2026.
